About

About me? Well, I will be the first to admit, I am a sinner through and through. I agree with Paul when he writes,

“Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me….Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 7:21-23, 25

For whatever reason, the Lord was gracious to call me out of my darkness to a totally glorious life with Him. His forgiveness, grace, mercy, love and wisdom sustain me daily. My life without my Creator would probably be too unbearable and stressful, but instead it is full of hope and what seems to be a new adventure pretty frequently.

I married Josh (Mr. Fun) almost 10 years ago. We knew each other 3 months before we got engaged and were married 6 months after that. He has huge muscles and an even bigger faith in God. And oh yea, my kids hit the jackpot with him…he never tires of playing…wrestling around, throwing, chasing, tickling, story-telling, any outdoor adventure, swimming, climbing, and whatever made-up game they come up with…he is down-right super fun! Josh is wonderful, caring, never critical, laid-back, and for the most part opposite of me. I can’t imagine going through all of our life trials with anyone else…he is definitely my source of strength.

We have had 5 kids beginning August 2004 through April 2009, with number 6 who brought up the rear in July 2013. Yes, we are a little crazy and busy and LOUD.  Clayton is our oldest, and a super-stud wrestler, and a typical oldest child. Glory, our daughter came next, but she is our special angel who we will play with again someday (her story is told in God’s Glory). Avery and Colt were our double blessing after losing Glory, and they have always been as opposite as they are boy and girl.  Avery is our ‘little mommy’ who loves to do everything mom does, which can be good and bad at times.  Colt is so sweet and so stubborn, he loves hanging out with the boys, pretty much doing anything the other boys are doing.   And then there is Danner, if you know her, she is just Danner….super cute, tiny but bold, goofy yet knows what she wants, and always HUNGRY. Last, and certainly not least, is our 6th baby, Bailey Dean, who is certainly not spoiled by her older siblings. This little one is a huge blessing because I am not sure we would have found the kanser if I wouldn’t have had that last babe.

So that is us…we have had quite the life together and could probably write books about our crazy life…losing our baby girl, losing Josh’s mom (fun grandma) totally unexpectedly, and now going through kanser (and a few other big obstacles, but I will spare all our dirty laundry). But all our stories would end up being great tales of how God has molded us and changed our direction and so deeply touched our lives that we know Him more and more through each trial. Our lives are His and I pray we can always be a witness for His Kingdom!

Our family prayer:

“Blessed are those who do not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but who delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on His law day and night. They are like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither- whatever they do prospers.” Ps 1: 1-3
